چکیده

Purpose: To document the development of central retinal vein occlusion secondary to orbital emphysema following nose blowing. Methods: A 55-year-old male developed central retinal vein occlusion secondary to orbital emphysema following nose blowing in the absence of trauma. Results: With conservative management his central retinal vein occlusion resolved over nine weeks period. Conclusion: The physician needs to be aware of possible sequelae related to orbital emphysema following nose blowing. A review of the medical literature revealed this to be, to the best of our knowledge, the first reported case of this type.

Combined central retinal artery and vein occlusion complicating orbital cellulitis.

Orbital Cellulitis is a dreaded ophthalmologic disease. It may destroy vision and the eye and may even become life threatening. Often visual loss is the result of exposure and subsequent destruction of ocular tissue commonly the cornea and the uvea. We report a case of combined central retinal artery and vein occlusion complicating orbital cellulitis in a 35 year old patient who was 37 weeks pr...

Multidisciplinary management of adult orbital rhabdomyosarcoma*.

We report the case of a 52-year-old man who presented with a 10-day history of right eye and eyelid inflammation and intermittent diplopia following blunt trauma to the right eyebrow. The CT and MRI scans revealed an extraconal soft tissue mass on the orbital floor with maxillary and ethmoid sinus wall destruction, which on orbital biopsy was proven to be an Alveolar Rhabdomyosarcoma. The patie...

Spontaneous resorption of exudative retinal detachments associated with ischaemic central retinal vein occlusion.

INTRODUCTION Exudative retinal detachments occur as a result of fluid flow alterations and breakdown of the blood retinal barrier which is seen in inflammatory, infectious and neoplastic disease states in addition to abnormal vasculature. Ischaemic central retinal vein occlusion (CRVO) is uncommonly associated with exudative detachments (1, 2). We report a case of exudative retinal detachments ...
